The King’s Church, Arnold is currently supporting Tim Pickin, Tim describes what he is doing:

“Hi, my name is Tim I have been working with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) for the past two years helping to lead Discipleship Training Schools in Derby. This has involved taking a small team to different cities around the UK and helping serve different churches and ministries in each location.
I have seen God transform people’s lives through these Discipleship Training Schools (including my own) and the teams have touched the lives of hundreds of different people. It is amazing the ways that God can use normal people who decide to set aside their own plans and give him 6 months of their lives.
Currently I have finished leading these schools to get some more training myself. I am a student on an 8 month School of Evangelism in Skien in Norway with YWAM. The school focuses on training people up to go out and pioneer new ministries for God, especially in Western European cities.”

Two of our church members, Mike and Sandra Williamson, acquired a retirement home in Spain in 2006 with the intention of escaping the British winter. However the Lord had other plans and they are both now involved with a local village church, The Alpha Centre, in nearby Los Nietos and a church plant into their local community at La Manga Club.
The Alpha Centre is pastored by Miguel Llagostera and his English wife Vivien, a former Operation Mobilisation missionary in Spain. An English speaking service is held on Sunday morning and a Spanish service in the evening. Style is similar to the King’s Church, i.e. informal and focussed on the Word and Spirit. Twice a month(1st, 3rd & 5th Sundays), an evening outreach service is held at La Manga Clubs Centre of Worship. On Thursday evening there is a fellowship meeting and during the Spring Mike ran a discipleship course for the group which was well received by the people there. Twice a month there is also a formal Anglican Communion which some of us attend and which is led by a retired priest
Miguel and Vivien previously pastored 2 churches in Barcelona. However Miguel felt God was calling him back to his roots in Los Nietos and they therefore started a new work in the village. They live and have built a worship centre by faith. Their income is a small pension supplemented by English/Spanish translation classes and interpreting for expats in the area for which they charge nominal fees or ask for a donation. The Lord meets all their needs and despite all kinds of obstacles and opposition the church is attracting new Christians (like us!) and seeing people saved, both English speaking and Spanish.
